In
May 2014 my wife and I went to see the Ai Wei-Wei exhibition
that is on here in Berlin until 07 July 2014. Though you don't get the scale of
course, please klick on the following link and you will see some of his works:

Her short report: It was the best exhibition of contemporary art I have seen
for a long time. The man is just extraordinary - such technical skill, so
many ideas, such courage, so politically involved, so humorous. The huge
central courtyard with the stools is so beautiful in real life, as there are a
couple of thousand stools, each one different. Wonderful things in marble
- marble, for heavens sake - and wood and metal and photography and films of
the various political actions. And then the wallpaper made out of the IOU's to
all the people who sent him 1 million Euros to support him.
And
things made from the metal bars out of the reinforced concrete of all
those badly-built schools where over 5000 children were killed during an
earthquake. It's thanks to him that we even know there were at least 5,000.
Amazing films of him recreating his captivity of 81 days and an
installation recreating his padded cell.
You should not miss this exhibition of the most important artist of the present day!
